The work represents the first idea for a bas-relief depicting the "Italian Duty", the reconquest of the unredeemed lands. Italy is depicted by the representation of powerful Italic warrior with helmet and sword with the look to the world and behind his back the Italian flag with the banner with the fascist eagle and drape which includes the names of the two cities liberated from the Austro-Hungarian yoke, Trento and Trieste.

Typical example of classical representation of rhetoric power of the Fascist period where they emphasized the elements of masculine vigor of the body as an element of force against the foreign enemy especially in the memory of past victory over the Central Empires in the First World War.

Artist, born in Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, from an early age he showed his sculptural ability, modeling clay figurines for the crib, in which he depicted the notables of the town. Student of the glorious school of design of the Workers Society of Mutual Aid, was noticed by a director of a newspaper of Messina, who reported him to the Academy of Fine Arts, which Sindoni was able to attend thanks to a municipal financing. Established as an artist, he opened a studio in Rome at first in via Margutta and then in via del Babuino and in Libertà square. In 1919 he created a group of sculptures depicting The Triumph of the Italian Victory. He distinguished himself in the art of the bust portrait, making everlasting many personalities of the aristocracy of the time and even Queen Elena. He built many monuments to the fallen, that dominate in different squares and gardens of Italy. He died in 1941, and was buried in the Verano cemetery in Rome.
